Bilyana Grazing has a team of successful farmers that take heifers from nine months of age to point of calving.

We pay our graziers on a weight gain basis. Our grazing team usually exceeds the expected weight gain of 0.78kg/day, usually closer to 0.8kg/day, averaged across the year.

A well set up, conservatively stocked farm will generate this weight gain predominately off pasture. Some supplementary feeding through summer and autumn is required.

Day to day management for our graziers includes observation and acting upon animal welfare, assistance in herd husbandry and provision of required pasture and supplementary feeds.

Bilyana Grazing provides assistance in all animal health procedures and weighing. When necessary, guidance is provided in weight gain management.

Rather than tying up financial resources in cow and calf operations or playing the store market game, grazing heifers provides a stable income stream without the cost of livestock.

Bilyana Grazing carry all animal health costs, provide bulls for mating, administration costs and assistance in herd husbandry.

This is a real alternative to leasing out your dairy farm. No strangers coming and going, no-one running your asset into the ground. The time inputs for grazing heifers allow you to stay involved in agriculture, have a steady income, and also have time for family and recreation.

Before joining the team, prospective graziers are invited to Bilyana. This is an opportunity to inspect our stock and talk about the business. We work through the selection guidelines with the grazier ensuring we understand what both parties want.
